What Is A Doula?
Every Birth Deserves Comfort, Confidence, and Care
A doula is a birth professional who provides informational, emotional, mental, and physical support to mothers leading up to and during childbirth. We support all types of birth — whether unmedicated, medicated, vaginal, cesarean, or anything in between. While doulas do not provide medical care or clinical advice, we are highly trained and knowledgeable about childbirth, helping families feel informed, empowered, and supported throughout the process.
A Valuable Member of Your Birth Team
When you choose to work with me as your doula, you’re not replacing anyone — you’re expanding your birth team.
I work alongside your provider to support your birth plan, offer comfort measures, and help create a calm, focused environment.
I work with your partner or support person, equipping them with tools, reassurance, and suggestions so they feel confident in their role.
I support you, ensuring your emotional, mental, and physical needs are cared for during every stage of labor and delivery.
Every person in the room plays an important role — your partner brings love and deep connection; your provider brings clinical expertise; I bring continuous, personalized support.
How Does a Doula Support You?
As your doula, my role is to walk beside you — providing steady, compassionate support at every stage:
Informational support: Helping you understand your options, providing evidence-based resources, and guiding you as you make decisions about your care.
Emotional support: Offering reassurance, encouragement, and a calm presence during pregnancy and birth.
Mental support: Helping you prepare your mindset for birth, work through any fears, and build confidence.
Physical support: Using comfort measures like breathing techniques, massage, positioning, counter pressure, and movement to help you cope during labor.
Your Partner & Your Doula
Your partner knows you best — but birth can be overwhelming, even for the most prepared support person. I am there to offer guidance, suggestions, and backup so your partner can focus on loving and encouraging you without feeling pressure to "know everything." Together, we create a steady, supportive, and well-rounded team to serve you.
The Research Is Clear
Studies show that having a doula can lead to:
Shorter labors
Fewer interventions
